Comparison
Waymarker compared with Chaty
Chaty is the closest product to what we do, and we mean that as a compliment. This page is not here to talk you out of them. Every claim about Chaty below comes from their own public pages, read on 7 and 8 October 2026. If we got something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
Chaty is an Australian booking agent for tours and activities. It connects to Rezdy, FareHarbor, ROLLER, Bókun, Checkfront, Bookeo and Peek Pro, takes phone and website chat, and writes bookings back into the system. Waymarker is a Danish company that does one channel, website chat on Checkfront only, and treats payment as part of the job: create the booking, send the guest to your hosted pay page, mark paid only when Checkfront reports paid. If you need phone, WhatsApp or many platforms, Chaty covers more. If you run on Checkfront in Europe and want a smaller stack with published pricing, that is what we build.
Where Chaty is genuinely ahead
A comparison that cannot say this is an advert. These are strengths on their own pages, not our guesses.
- They are on your platform, or close to it. Their integrations page lists Rezdy, FareHarbor, ROLLER, Bókun, Checkfront, Bookeo and Peek Pro, with WhatsApp marked coming soon. We support Checkfront only. If you are on FareHarbor or Rezdy today, they are the serious option and we are not.
- They answer the phone. From Basecamp upward their pricing page includes phone plus booking links by text, and from Horizon a mobile number. We are website chat only. If missed calls are where you lose money, that gap matters more than anything on this page.
- They manage the booking after it exists. Their pricing page lists booking management as create, modify and cancel on every paid plan. We create new bookings only. A guest who needs to move a date still needs a human or your booking system.
- They list card payments on every plan. Their pricing page names credit card payments alongside live availability; we could not see from their pages where the payment step happens. We send the guest to your Checkfront hosted payment page and confirm paid status from Checkfront, not from what the guest types in chat.
- They run more channels from one knowledge base. Their pricing page promises one knowledge base for every channel, transcripts and summaries, Slack and email alerts, and hand-off on every plan. We email the owner when a hand-off happens and give you a dashboard. We do not do Slack, phone or WhatsApp.
Where we actually differ
On Checkfront, both products read live availability and write bookings back. Chaty's integrations page says it reads tours, times and live availability from your booking system and writes confirmed bookings back, and for Checkfront specifically that bookings are written back to Checkfront. We do the same narrow job on that one platform.
The split is what happens after the booking exists and how much else you are buying. We refuse to mark a booking paid until Checkfront itself reports paid. A guest can say they paid in chat and the agent keeps telling them the booking is open, because it asks Checkfront rather than believing the conversation. That is deliberate depth on one adapter, including traps like per-item guest-count parameters and invoice pay links that are off by default.
Chaty prices in Australian dollars on a credits-based ladder: Basecamp AUD 159 per month with quiet months at half price, Horizon AUD 249, Journey AUD 399 and Summit AUD 699, with the first month free and no lock-in stated on their pricing page. Starter Free and Traveller at AUD 29 were marked coming soon when we read it. We charge 69 euros per month plus 4 euros per booking the agent creates, with a 30-day free trial, published on our own site because we would rather you know the number before you apply.
We are an EU company, Rosbech Media Consult ApS in Denmark. Your contract, our database in Paris and our API in Helsinki, Finland sit in regulatory space many European venues care about. Chaty is Australian. That is not a verdict on quality, only on procurement questions we get asked.
What we will not claim
We have not run Chaty on a live venue side by side with Waymarker. We cannot tell you whose Checkfront integration handles edge cases better until someone tries both on the same account.
We do not know whether Chaty confirms paid status from Checkfront the way we do. Their pages promise credit card payments; they do not spell out the same paid-from-booking-system rule we enforce. If they do, this page should say so and we want to know.

Which one to pick
Choose Chaty if
You are not on Checkfront, or you need phone and text, or guests often need to change or cancel inside the agent, or you want one supplier across FareHarbor, Rezdy and the rest. Those are good reasons.
Choose Waymarker if
You run on Checkfront in Europe, you care that paid means paid in Checkfront not in chat, and you want a smaller product with public euro pricing and an EU supplier behind it.
Choose neither yet if
Nobody is trying to book outside your staffed hours. An agent earns its keep on the enquiries you are currently missing. If you are catching all of them, keep your money.
Questions
Is Chaty cheaper?
It depends on volume and season. Their Basecamp plan is AUD 159 per month with half price in quiet months on their pricing page, before credits. We are 69 euros per month plus 4 euros per booking the agent creates. Convert currencies and count your monthly bookings before you decide.
Do you integrate with Rezdy, FareHarbor or Bókun?
Not today. Checkfront is the only live adapter. We will not list platforms we have not shipped.
Can I run both?
Technically yes, they are separate products. In practice two agents on one site is a worse experience than either alone.
Is this page biased?
Of course we wrote it. That is why every claim about Chaty links to their own page with the date we read it, so you can check what matters to you.
